Crescenta Valley cluster PTA: Taste of Montrose scheduled for May 4
The annual Taste of Montrose, to be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 4, is a wonderful opportunity to sample the culinary delights offered by an array of participating Montrose restaurants and support an important student program.
Tickets are $20 and all proceeds benefit Prom Plus, a post-prom event for Crescenta Valley High School seniors and their guests. Held at the Crescenta-Cañada YMCA, the event provides a fun yet safe alternative to unchaperoned after-prom parties.

Lincoln Elementary
The last PTA and foundation meetings of the school year will be held at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m., respectively, on May 8 in the auditorium.
Then, on May 9, will be the final Walk to School Day.
Campus Beautification will take place from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on May 10. Come and help work on the native plant and vegetable gardens and tidy up the campus in preparation for an open house on May 15.
Valley View Elementary
An open house, In ‘n’ Out dinner and silent auction will be held on May 1. This is the biggest dine-in evening of the school year. The In ‘n’ Out dinner will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and is sponsored by Valley View’s foundation. The silent auction will be sponsored by the PTA and begin at 6 p.m. The open house will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
Staff Appreciation Week will be from May 5 to 9. The PTA, students and families show their appreciation for the Valley View staff throughout the week with banners, fruit baskets and lunch.
The PTA meeting and new board installation will be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 15 in the auditorium.
Mountain Avenue Elementary
Beautification Day will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Contact the school office for more information.
Staff Appreciation Week will be from April 28 to May 2.
The PTA installation lunch and association meeting will be 9:30 a.m. on May 2 in the school’s auditorium. Newly elected PTA officers for the 2014-15 school year will be installed into their positions.
An open house and choral performance is slated for 6:30 p.m. on May 8. Parents and students will tour the classrooms and see lots of great student work on display.
Monte Vista Elementary
An open house will be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 8. Information will be sent home with students.
Staff Appreciation Week will be from May 12 to 16. Lots of surprises are planned for the school staff.
Rosemont Middle School
Staff Appreciation Week will be from May 5 to 9. PTA will put on an event to thank the staff for “Sharing the World” with the students. Volunteers and food donations are needed to make this a successful event. A SignUp Genius for volunteers and food donations will be available soon.

Crescenta Valley High School
The Falcon baseball program will hold its annual Fan Appreciation Night at 7 p.m. on May 16 at Stengel Field. The Falcons will take on their rivals, the Arcadia Apaches. There will be raffles, prizes, face painting, dinner from Los Gringos Locos and a bake sale. Admission is free.
