Alleged shoplifting pair sought by police

Share

Police are looking for a man and woman who they said reportedly stole and concealed several hundreds of dollars in teeth-whitening and skin-care products in a reusable shopping bag.

Photographs of the pair were released Tuesday and showed them browsing the aisles of a grocery store.

They are wanted in connection with four shoplifting cases, which occurred sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. and mostly on weekdays from March 26 to April 15 at a Vons grocery store in the 2000 block of Verdugo Boulevard, according to Glendale police.

They allegedly pretended to be shopping for groceries as they placed razors, Olay skin-care and teeth-whitening products inside the reusable shopping bag.

Teeth-whitening strips and razors are just some of the most common items stolen last year, according to the National Retail Federation.

Professional shoplifters often steal products in high demand, so they can resell them for cash, according to the organization.

Burbank police are also investigating the woman in connection with a theft at Pavilions in the 1100 block of West Alameda Avenue.

The woman is described as 19 to 25 years old, between 5 feet 5 and 5 feet 7, 130 to 145 pounds with a possible star tattoo on the right side of her chest.

Police described the man as 19 to 25 years, between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 9, 150 to 170 pounds with blond hair and a tattoo on the inside of his forearm.

Anyone with details about the pair is asked to call Burglary Det. Kelly Kramer at (818) 548-2097.
