Letter: Bicyclists should be held to account

A new law going into effect on Sept. 16 mandates a 3-foot buffer zone around bicyclists. As it is now, bicyclists in Northwest Glendale frequently ride down the middle of the street, making it impossible and unsafe to pass them. I walk this area daily and observe the bicyclists blatantly oblivious to the surrounding motor traffic while summarily running through stop signs or making illegal left turns and the GPD (who have been increasingly present on Kenneth Road) seem to just let them do as they please.
If the bicyclists are demanding equal traffic rights, then they should have to conform and abide by the same laws as motor traffic and be ticketed for traffic violations. GPD, are you reading this? This has to change!
