Letter: Boy Scouts deserve ‘Spotlight’ also

I was excited to see the News-Press was going to feature local scout achievements each week (“Spotlight on Scouting”). I believe this is the fourth week since its inception. Every week a Girl Scout has been featured. Are the Boy Scouts on hiatus? Not available for comment? When will we see Boy Scouts featured?
Teenage boys receive enough bad press in today’s society. Let’s at least give them credit when they’ve done something good. Am I prejudiced toward boys? As the mother of two Eagle Scouts, absolutely I am! Scouting was an important part of their lives, a defining part. I can’t give enough credit to all the scout leaders who devoted countless hours to shape young boys into responsible young men.

Thank you for all the good stories about Girl Scouts, but let’s not forget the Boy Scouts, please.
