Letter: Dancing in the aisles over ‘Billy Elliot’

Kudos once again to everyone involved with the Alex Theatre’s presentation of “Billy Elliot the Musical.” Having seen and loved the movie version, I wondered on opening night how the play could possibly compare. My wife and I were not disappointed. From the moment that the actors began to sing until the final moments in which young Billy “flies” in the air, dancing with the wonderful adult persona of himself, we were transfixed.

We are blessed to have the Alex continuing to provide such wonderful big stage productions in our own downtown. Here’s hoping our community can come together to restore the Alex to its former glory, including the beautiful lighted spire!
