An icon who was well-taught

The Little Rock Nine story, as told by one who lived it, had to be a heart-searching experience for the audience at Hoover High (“An icon tells his story,” April 24).

Terrence Roberts is more than an icon. He and his fellow Little Rock Nine are American heroes. As teenagers, they risked their lives for what Mr. Roberts called the ‘principals of good.’

Terrence Roberts’ parents taught him well.
