It’s time to end right turn on red

I ride my bike/walk around Glendale. I have to caution drivers about the need to be much more alert. This problem isn’t unique to Glendale, it seems to be the norm in our fast-paced society.

I know that drivers involved in accidents regret having been less careful or having been in a hurry, especially if a pedestrian is killed or injured. I ask all drivers to remember that they are already on a high-speed conveyance while we who walk or bike are not. An extra moment to look left and right constantly before proceeding might just spare them much grief and regret. I propose that maybe it’s time to outlaw right turns on red lights in Glendale to enhance pedestrian/bike safety.
