What about the rest of Rossmoyne?

Share

My wife and I are 15-year residents of the Rossmoyne area, living just below Mountain Street on Isabel Street. We love the character of the Rossmoyne area, the beautiful homes, trees and the overall neighborhood feel. We have always believed that the Rossmoyne area was bounded roughly between Maryland Avenue on the west and Glendale Boulevard on the east.

We happened to purchase a 1917 version of the Glendale City Directory which indicates the homes in the Rossmoyne area west of Cedar Street are as old, if not older, than the homes in the area east of Cedar Street. For example, the great majority of homes on our block in the Rossmoyne area were built in the 1920s and 1930s. We believe that this arbitrary petition to carve out only a portion of the actual “historic Rossmoyne area” will end up creating two separate Rossmoyne areas when we believe that the Rossmoyne area should be the entire area, and that the petition should have been addressed to all homeowners in the actual Rossmoyne area.
