Respect and rules of the road

Share

As soon as the signal indicated it was OK to walk, I began crossing the northerly most east-west crosswalk at Broadview and Verdugo Road, headed west. Several vehicles were headed east on Broadview and were waiting for another vehicle, headed west, to pass the intersection.

While I was in the middle of the crosswalk, not one, but two vehicles going east began their left turns and crossed my path without even looking. If I hadn’t stopped and jumped back I most likely wouldn’t be here. This is not the first time this has happened in Glendale and probably won’t be the last. To add to that, we now have bicyclists who think they have the right to pedal through red lights.

Glendale has no business looking into “road diets” until folks learn the rules of the road and how to drive and have some respect for others. Had this been a disabled person, we would have had another fatality.

Wake up, Glendale and show some respect for your community.
