The reason why this is the Jewel City

Share

When you have a goose that lays the golden egg you should take care of it and not be eating it a little at a time. The golden goose is Glendale Water and Power.

After skimming off the $22 million from the utility rates we pay and the cost of keeping the golden goose to be able to lay the golden eggs there isn’t enough money left to keep the goose alive without large increases in our rates and the issue of millions of dollars in bond debt.

I have finally figured out why they call Glendale the Jewel City: You are going to have to sell all of your jewels in order to pay your utility bills.
