Ochoa should be terminated for cause

Re: “De Pompa stays, gets hourly pay,” March 29. I believe that any senior manager/executive will agree that one of their most important duties is to insure that there are proper succession plans for all of their key staff members.

In my experience, each one should have at least two, and perhaps three, people groomed and ready to step up into each key position. Apparently, neither City Manager Scott Ochoa nor his predecessor recognized this.

Therefore, it would seem that the city of Glendale needs to begin recruiting for four positions: city manager, police chief, and two deputy police chiefs. To have known for more than a year that this would be happening and apparently do nothing about it should be sufficient reason to terminate Ochoa for cause.
