Story on cutout got his attention

Re: “Clint Eastwood’s cutout may ride again,” July 20. I am a 44-year-old resident of Glendale, native of NYC, and avid newspaper reader. This is my favorite newspaper article ever.

To use an apt cliche, it captures lightning in a bottle: I felt the spark of life jumping from person to person to person; across the globe; from child to parent to child again; spanning generations and finally demonstrating the power of art to make statements of profound meaning. I am touched and haunted. The article helps me believe once more in the power of the better angels of our nature to overcome the depths of depravity exhibited by vandalism and violence. Thanks.
