Leaf blowers continue to irritate

I would be absolutely delighted to see leaf blowers eliminated from our environment for all the reasons mentioned by Mrs. Gorman in her letter (“Leaf blowers make too much noise,” July 24). However, there is one problem with her proposal: I have lived in several municipalities in Southern California where leaf blower bans were enacted and, unfortunately, these bans were never enforced. So the leaf blowers continue to pollute with fumes, dust and noise.

I hope if Glendale does ban leaf blowers that we will actually all pull together to cooperate with said ban. One way for a community to do that is to instruct our gardeners not to use leaf blowers.
