Social services should have monitored La Crescenta daycare where pot was found

The timeline in Saturday’s paper shows the California Department of Social Services did not monitor Bina’s Family Child Care properly.

No visits in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012 (“Reported violations at day care date from 2008,” Aug. 17). Shame! We are talking about children here, infants and toddlers who cannot speak or care for themselves. They are not inanimate objects. How can a reasonable society let them slip through the cracks? Irresponsible. No excuses.

There are many regulations that have been ignored in this case.
