Businesses suffer from road work

Re: the Aug. 25 article “Stores blame road work for their losses.”

I can heartily sympathize with the vendors. By the time you maneuver through the maze of orange cones redirecting you, the neon arrows, the sawhorses and all of the dust, you tend to think, “Is this worth the effort?”

Especially in this day and age of instant gratification, these vendors are being left in the dust and fast. They should receive some kind of monetary recompense from the city for their displacement.
