Letter: In support of additional memorials

I advocate that Glendale install more memorials like the comfort women statue. Unfortunately there are many more opportunities to commemorate those who have suffered at the hands of their fellow man. Let us become a city renowned not only for its enviable quality of life but also for its artful and compelling memorials to compassion and empathy.

Considering that a large percentage of our citizens share the history of a genocide, and considering that we are all united in our humanity, let’s ponder together the words of Marley’s ghost from Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”: “Mankind was my business. The common welfare was my business.”
