Letter: New apartment dwellers will also use water

“At least it wasn’t raining.”

In last Thursday’s New-Press you show a picture of a man watering his lawn while his sprinklers ran. The last sentence of the caption was “California is in the midst of a severe drought.”

How about the News Press running pictures every day of the hundreds of new apartments being built or proposed that will add countless showers, bath tubs, toilets and kitchen sinks to our already short water supply? If Glendale is truly short on water then the addition of all this new capacity is absolutely irresponsible and negligent.

Until the building stops I plan to use water as if there is no shortage. Obviously the city planners feel the same way.
