Pasadena’s Colorado Street Bridge offers majestic views of the Arroyo Seco and over the last 79 years has witnessed everything from speed demons to suicides. The iconic bridge that connects Pasadena to Eagle Rock was built in 1913. By the 1970s it had fallen into disrepair. Officials closed it in 1989 because they feared it would prove unsafe in an earthquake. It was reopened in 1993.
