It was a battle of teams fighting for a coveted playoff spot when the Glendale High and Burbank girls’ basketball squads met Friday in a Pacific League contest. The game was a tight one throughout with neither squad able to take more than a five-point lead for the better part of four quarters. But the Bulldogs created some breathing room with three and a half minutes remaining in the game. They were able to use that surge to hold off the charging Nitros and earn a 51-48 victory at Glendale.
