Down by two goals early in the second half of its CIF Southern Section Division III boys’ soccer wild-card match against Yucaipa High, Glendale made a push. The Nitros tallied consecutive goals to tie the contest and had prime chances in the waning minutes of regulation to win the game. However, the Nitros couldn’t convert late and the contest went into overtime. Neither team was able to score in the first 10-minute overtime half. But in the second half, it was the Eagles who came up with the golden goal, notching the winning tally six minutes into the frame to send Glendale down to a 3-2 defeat in the Division III contest at Moyse Field.
