Thousands of costumed trick-or-treaters were expected to descend on Honolulu Avenue in Montrose Halloween night for the annual Halloween Spooktacular. Hosted by the Montrose Shopping Park Assn, the decades-long event draws out trick-or-treaters and parents to enjoy the ghoulish holiday in a safe environment. Roughly 100 merchants were expected to remain open, dishing out candy to trick-or-treaters making their way along the shopping park’s three-block stretch.
