BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Glendale 79, Hoover 39: David Shamiryan had a game-high 26 points Thursday to ignite visiting Glendale to a Pacific League victory.

The Nitros finished the regular season 16-12, 8-6 in league for third place.

Manouk Manoukian and Arthur Chebishian contributed 15 and 14 points, respectively, for Glendale.

Hoover wrapped up its season at 3-23, 0-14.

Flintridge Prep 54, Rio Hondo Prep 49 (overtime): The host Rebels concluded the regular season Thursday with a Prep League win.

Flintridge Prep improved to 12-13, 4-4 in league for third place.

St. Monica Academy 38, Southwestern Academy 28: Visiting St. Monica registered an International League win Thursday.

The Crusaders concluded the regular season 14-7, 8-2 in league for second place.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Crescenta Valley 6, Arcadia 2: Host Crescenta Valley wrapped up the regular season Thursday with a Pacific League win.

The Falcons received two goals from Talon Carvalho.

Crescenta Valley went 9-1-4 in league for third place.

Glendale 2, Hoover 1: Visiting Glendale clinched a playoff spot Thursday with a Pacific League win.

The Nitros finished league at 7-6-1 for fourth place.

Flintridge Prep 8, Chadwick 3: Silas Chavez had five goals Wednesday to lift host Flintridge Prep to a Prep League victory.

The Rebels closed out the regular season at 10-3-6, 3-1-2 in league for second place.

St. Francis 1, Crespi 0: St. Francis posted a Mission League road win Wednesday in a regular-season finale and clinched a playoff berth.

The Golden Knights (4-5-3 in league for fourth place) received a first-half goal from Cole Bender and goalkeeper Luis Granados stopped a penalty shot late in the second half.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Crescenta Valley 2, Arcadia 0: Julianna Cheney and Ashlin Cuesta each scored one goal Thursday to propel visiting Crescenta Valley to a Pacific League victory.

The Falcons finished 11-0-3 in league for second place.

Glendale 2, Hoover 2: Glendale and Hoover battled to a Pacific League tie Thursday at Glendale.

Glendale finished 6-5-3 in league for fourth place.

Chaminade 1, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 0: The Tologs wrapped up the regular season Wednesday with a Mission League road loss.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Flintridge Prep 74, Rio Hondo Prep 28: Host Flintridge Prep coasted to a Prep League win Thursday.

Kaitlyn Chen recorded 11 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for Flintridge Prep, which received 21 points from Sofia Gonzalez and 13 from Ashlyn Zhang.

The league-champion Rebels finished the regular season 22-4- 12-0 in league and have won 56 straight league games.

Crescenta Valley 40, Arcadia 31: Crescenta Valley wrapped up the regular season Thursday with a Pacific League home victory.

The Falcons are 19-9, 9-5 in league for third place.

Glendale 40, Hoover 32: Melissa Zamora and Ani Boyajyan each had 10 points Thursday to lift the visiting Nitros to a Pacific League victory.

Glendale ended the regular season 19-8, 8-6 in league to tie for fourth place with Arcadia.

St. Monica Academy 27, Waverly 15: The Crusaders notched an International League win Thursday.

St. Monica, who won the league title, improved to 19-3, 7-0 in league. It has won 65 straight league contests.

Immaculate Heart 43, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 30: The visiting Tologs fell Thursday in a Sunshine League game.

The Tologs are 9-13, 3-5 in league and are tied with Marymount for third place.

Flintridge Sacred Heart and Marymount will compete in a play-in game at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Marymount.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Crescenta Valley 10, Pasadena 7: Katie Ward finished with four goals Thursday to lift Crescenta Valley to a win in the third-place match of the Pacific League Tournament at Arcadia High.

AJ True and Hanna Ziccardi had two goals apiece for the Falcons (13-10, 6-2 in league).

WRESTLING

Hoover in Rio Hondo League Tournament: Hoover advanced six athletes to the CIF Southern Section Individual Championships at the Rio Hondo League finals at Monrovia High on Wednesday.

Tornadoes senior Luis Socito led the boys’ team with a league title in the 120-pound match and Hoover sophomore Sarine Mardirosian placed first in the 101-pound girls’ division.

Hoover also had a second-place finish from Julio Bermudez (170) and third-place finishes from Jira Danetaras (132), Zachary Acosta (126) and Raymond Bagramyan (113).

The individual championships will take place at Brea Olinda High at 11 a.m. Feb. 14.

MEN’S TENNIS

Ventura College 6, Glendale Community College 3: Glendale suffered a Western State Conference home defeat Thursday.

The Vaqueros are 3-1, 1-1 in conference.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Centura College 7, Glendale Community College 2: Glendale dropped a Western State Conference road match Thursday.

The Vaqueros dipped to 1-3, 0-2 in conference.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

Glendale Community College 9, Victory Valley College 6: Glendale (2-4) earned a nonconference victory Thursday at the Glendale Sports Complex.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

L.A. Valley College 65, Glendale Community College 40: Glendale saw its 21-game winning streak end Wednesday in a Western State Conference South Division road contest.

The Vaqueros (21-2) received eight points apiece from Zoe Rouse and Emily Sisson.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

L.A. Valley College 81, Glendale Community College 54: Glendale lost Wednesday on the road in a Western State Conference South Division game.

The Vaqueros (5-18, 0-9 in the division) got 11 points from Andreyas Boghossian.
