Crescenta Valley High’s Van Ginkel selected to All-American Game

Crescenta Valley High senior wide receiver Connor Van Ginkel was one of 100 players selected nationally to take place in the fourth annual National Underclassmen Football Combine All-American Game and Performance Week taking place in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The NUC selects it top 100 players from each grade level from throughout the country, beginning from the seventh grade and ending with high school seniors, and invites them to a four-day long combine that includes team practices and individual activities.

The all-star game takes place Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 5 p.m. (PST) at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

Competing teams are broken up along North-South lines.

Some past participants of the game include Johnny Manziel (Cleveland Browns), Marcus Mariota (University of Oregon), and Eric Ebron (Detroit Lions).

Van Ginkel earned Pacific League first-team honors after hauling in 67 receptions for 1,405 yards and 13 touchdowns while helping Crescenta Valley to the CIF Southern Section Southeast Division championship.
