Saugus 2, Hoover 0: The Tornadoes (0-1-1) suffered a defeat Friday in the Ralph Brandt Tournament.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 1, Pasadena Poly 0: The Tologs (2-0) received a goal from Marissa Venneri off an assist from Fiona Stayton to earn a nonleague victory Friday.
Sierra Canyon 2, Flintridge Prep 1: The Rebels began their season Friday with a nonleague road defeat. Julia Gonzalez scored for the Rebels with Mikaela Celeste picking up the assist.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
L.A. Valley College 92, Glendale Community College 88 (overtime): The Vaqueros (2-5) suffered a defeat Friday in the West L.A. Tournament. The teams were tied at 77 at the end of regulation before the Vaqueros were outscored, 15-11, in the extra session.
Glendale received 25 points from Serigne Athj and 18 from Chris Daniels.
