OFFENSE

QB — Lucas Yanez, Senior, Burroughs

Pacific League Offensive Player of the Year threw for 19 touchdowns and rushed for nine, throwing for 1,965 yards and rushing for 523 as he spearheaded the Indians’ attack toward claiming a league title.

RB — Austin De Los Santos, Junior, St. Francis

All-Mission League first-team pick came on late in the season to grab starting job and acclaim. A hard, versatile runner who had 565 yards rushing in 115 carries for five scores and also had 19 catches for 271 yards and a score.

RB — Ulisies Ochoa, Senior, Burbank

First-team All-Pacific League selection averaged seven yards a carry as he ran 180 times for an area-leading 1,255 yards and 18 touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs’ attack.

RB — Tadeo Zuniga, Senior, Burroughs

Another in a steady line of top Burroughs backs, the first-team All-Pacific League selection had 1,241 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns in 182 carries.

WR — Ian Hamilton, Senior, St. Francis

Big-play wideout hauled in 28 catches for 598 yards, an average of 21.36 per catch, and had five touchdowns. Was a second-team All-Mission League selection.

WR — Travis Talianko, Junior, St. Francis

All-Area Player of the Year candidate was a first-team All-Mission League pick after a phenomenal season. He hauled in 17 touchdowns and had 946 yards receiving on 59 catches. Also did double duty much of the time, playing safety for the Knights and tallying 25 tackles.

OL — Patrick Carroll, Senior, St. Francis

Arguably the most talented player in the area, the man-beast was named All-Mission League Most Valuable Lineman. Despite missing four games due to injury and switching to right tackle from the left side, still garnered plenty of accolades as a dominant pass blocker, a team leader and a steady run blocker.

OL — Kristion Grbavac, Junior, St. Francis

Strong and nasty, the first-team All-Mission Leaguer was a consistent and stellar presence at center for the Golden Knights and a leader when teammate Patrick Carroll was lost to injury.

OL — Rookie Hussakhoon, Senior, Burroughs

Anchor of Burroughs’ offensive line, Hussakhoon was a first-team All-Pacific League selection.

OL — Spencer Lee, Senior, Burbank

First-team All-Pacific League pick was vital to Burbank’s success.

OL — Bryan Luna, Senior, Crescenta Valley

A first-team All-Pacific League selection as an offensive lineman, but could’ve easily received the honor for his talents and production as a linebacker.

K — Ian Sternau, Senior, St. Francis

A first-team All-Mission League punter, but his true talents lied in his kicking. Booted nine field goals, including a 48-yarder and put 33 of his 43 kickoffs in the end zone.

DEFENSE

DL — Nick Brown, Senior, Burroughs

First-team All-Pacific Leaguer had 60 tackles and an area-best seven sacks.

DL — Garrett Schiavello, Senior, Burroughs

Second-team All-Pacific League pick garnered 61 tackles and three sacks.

DL — Michael Singelyn, Senior, St. Francis

Small in stature, but blessed with a big motor, the first-team All-Mission League pick led the Golden Knights with six sacks and also had 41 tackles.

LB — Luke Anderson, Junior, St. Francis

A second-team All-Mission League pick with first-team talent, the hard hitter had 82 tackles and three sacks and was also a valuable weapon as a short-yardage runner on offense.

LB — Casey Barbello, Senior, Burroughs

First-team All-Pacific League pick had 144 tackles and five sacks to lead the Burroughs defensive unit.

LB — Ryan McAleenan, Junior, St. Francis

Two-year starter led the Golden Knights with 83 tackles and was a first-team All-Mission League selection.

LB — Ryan Seidler, Senior, Burbank

Pacific League Defensive Player of the Year was a tackling machine with 151 on the season. Also had two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.

DB — Michael Arkfeld, Senior, La Cañada

All-Rio Hondo League Defensive Back of the Year had 41 tackles, six interceptions and seven passes defensed for the Spartans.

DB – Ryan Jenkins, Senior, St. Francis

All-around talent was a second-team All-Mission League pick who had 43 tackles, two interceptions, 11 passes defensed and on offense had two rushing scores and 110 yards in six carries, 145 yards on 11 catches and 372 yards on 17 kickoff returns.

DB — Parker Nieves, Junior, St. Francis

St. Francis’ most consistent presence in the defensive backfield, the corner was a first-team All-Mission League selection. He garnered 46 tackles, three interceptions, seven passes defensed and four forced fumbles.

DB — Micah Shirley, Senior, Bell-Jeff

Do-it-all standout for the Guards was a first-team All-Santa Fe League pick who ran for 1, 210 yards and seven scores on 119 carries, caught 24 balls for eight touchdowns and 402 yards, threw for 200 yards and a score and had 122 tackles and four picks at defensive back.

ALL-PURPOSE

Adam Colman, Senior, Burbank

First-team All-Pacific League quarterback completed 129 of 241 passes for 2,066 yards and threw 19 touchdowns to just four interceptions.

Eric Kazangian, Senior, Flintridge Prep

Running back and linebacker was a first-team All-Prep League selection that had a team-high 83 tackles (9.2 per game) and also rushed for 373 yards in 45 carries (8.2 per carry) for four scores.

Jose Rodriguez, Senior, Burbank

An all-league snub who averaged 21 yards on his 33 catches for 690 yards. Also had eight touchdowns.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Keith Knoop, Burroughs

After an 0-3 start against a trio of formidable old rivals from the Foothill League, Knoop led his team on a resurgence that led to a second straight share of the Pacific League title and the program’s third league crown in four years. Team finished season with a 7-5 record, but not until after defeating El Rancho, 41-21, in the opening round of the CIF Southern Section Southeast Division playoffs for the program’s first playoff win in 23 years.
