Cougars pick up historic win

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Glendale Adventist Academy 2, Oakwood 1: Melissa Yeghiazarian scored two goals to lead the Cougars (1-7, 1-3 in league) to their first win of the season in a Liberty League home match at the Glendale Sports Complex on Thursday.

The win was also the first in the history of the first-year program. Kiana Clemons and Victoria Osby provided assists on the Cougars’ goals.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Flintridge Prep 46, Mayfield 43 (OT): Mya Okamoto led the Rebels (4-9, 1-2) to their first Prep League win on the road Thursday with 26 points and Kimberly Kim scored all five of her points in overtime.

Holy Family 44, Bishop Conaty-Loretto 20: Gayle Lachica scored 14 points for the Gaels (4-10, 2-1) in a Horizon League road win on Thursday.

Alemany 10, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 5: The Tologs fell in a Mission League road match on Thursday.
