Glendale improved to 2-6-4, 1-4-2 in league, while Hoover is 3-5-2, 0-4-2.

“We just couldn’t get the ball in the net,” Glendale Coach Victor Aquino said. “It took time to get used to their field with all the dirt and that kept us down in the first half.

“In the second half, we were on them. We just couldn’t score.”

Hoover Coach Donal Kennedy said the teams were evenly matched in the first of two regular-season meetings.

“We played well in the first half and then they played well in the second half,” Kennedy said. “I thought it was a pretty decent game.”

New Community Jewish 8, Glendale Adventist Academy 0: The visiting Cougars got seven saves from goalkeeper Stephanie Abandy in a Liberty League match. Glendale Adventist fell to 1-5 in league.
