Vaqueros rally late for win
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Glendale Community College 62, Bakersfield College 58: Narbeh Ebrahimian made a three-pointer with 35 seconds left to give the visiting Vaqueros a Western State Conference Southern Division win Wednesday. Ebrahimian’s shot gave Glendale college a 60-58 lead.
Nick Bryant made two three-pointers in the final five minutes to help Glendale college improve to 15-7, 4-2 in the division. The Vaqueros are tied for first in the division with Citrus, College of the Canyons and Santa Monica City College.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Glendale 66, Burbank 64: Anthony Tahmazyan contributed 17 points and David Yetenikyan added 16 on Wednesday to lead the host Nitros in a Pacific League contest.
Glendale (9-12, 4-5 in league) received 11 points apiece from Steven Gasparian and Linden Anderson. Anderson had nine rebounds and three blocks.
Crespi 58, St. Francis 35: The Golden Knights (9-12, 1-7 in the Mission League) received 11 points from Zack Gardea in a league home loss Wednesday.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Crescenta Valley 74, Hoover 37: Ella Stepanian and Sarah Yoon each scored 12 points Wednesday to propel the host Falcons in a Pacific League contest. Crescenta Valley (11-10, 4-5 in league) received 11 points from Catherine Davis and eight from Samira Seraji.
Hoover (1-15, 0-9) got 11 points from Sharis Rostamian and 10 from Kariz Alberto.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 3, Louisville 0: Krista Meaglia, Katie Johnson and Alyssa Conti all scored for the Tologs in a Mission League road match at Crespi High on Wednesday.
Johnson and Sarah Teegarden provided assists for Sacred Heart (13-1-1, 5-1-1).
Arcadia 7, Hoover 0: The host Tornadoes fell Wednesday in a Pacific League match. Hoover dropped to 4-6-2, 1-5-2.
