Ziraki powers Hoover to win
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Hoover 54, Burroughs 45: Aden Ziraki had a game-high 26 points to lead the Tornadoes to a Pacific League home win Tuesday.
Ziraki also had five steals for Hoover (6-18, 2-12), while Kyle Bernardo had 13 points and Arbi Abelian had six points and 15 rebounds.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Burroughs 73, Hoover 29: Amatia Golbodaghi had nine points and Kariz Alberto had seven as the Tornadoes (1-19, 0-13 in Pacific League) lost on the road Tuesday.
Harvard-Westlake 71, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 38: Vanessa Romero scored 12 points and eclipsed the 1,000-point mark Tuesday in a Mission League road game. Romero has scored 1,005 career points.
The Tologs received 11 points and 10 rebounds from Lana Haddad.

Burroughs 2, Hoover 0: The Tornadoes lost on the road Tuesday and fell to 4-10-2 and 1-9-2 in the Pacific League.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Hoover 2, Burroughs 2: Jesse Pina scored two goals for the Tornadoes in a league home match Tuesday. Hoover improved to 2-9-2 in league.
COLLEGE BASEBALL
Glendale Community College 9, Oxnard College 0: Sako Chapjian hit a home run and double and drove in three runs Tuesday to carry the visiting Vaqueros (3-1) in a nonconference contest. Erik Suarez finished with three hits and scored one run for Glendale college.
MEN’S TENNIS
Saddleback College 5, Glendale Community College 4: Alex Sarkissian, Trevor Campbell and Dro Mahmoudi each won their single sets for the Vaqueros (1-3) in a nonconference home match Tuesday.
Sarkissian won, 6-0, 6-0, while Campbell netted a 6-0, 6-4 victory. Mahmoudi earned a 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 win.
Sarkissian and Campbell worked together to pick up an 8-3 doubles win.
