Knights drop close one to Loyola

BOYS’ GOLF

Loyola 190, St. Francis 192: Richie Maloof carded an even-par 35 to lead the Golden Knights in a Mission League loss at Brookside Park Golf Course No. 2 on Wednesday.

Michael Finney shot a 36, Vince De Pinto shot a 39 and Michael Doll shot a 40 for St. Francis (4-11, 2-7 in league).

BOYS’ SWIMMING

Crescenta Valley 133, Burroughs 46: The Falcons cruised to victory in Tuesday’s Pacific League home dual meet, led by wins from Louis Wojciechowski in the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes 2.72 seconds and the 50 freestyle in 22.29.

Other Falcons winners were Andrew De Jong in the 100 butterfly (55.58), Josh Chi in the 100 freestyle (50.22), Bassil Takidin in the 100 backstroke (1:00.57) and Jake Ksendov in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.05).

Harrison Thai, Josh Lo, Wojciechowski and Chi won the 200-medley relay (1:44.52), Ksendov, Stephen Woo, Rusty Blakey and De Jong won the 200-freestyle relay in 1:33.52 and Woo, Blakey, De Jong and Chi won the 400-freestyle relay in 3:40.01.

GIRLS’ SWIMMING

Crescenta Valley 117, Burroughs 53: Adrienne Ingalla was a double-winner in the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes 8.17 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 57.17 to lead the Falcons in a Pacific League home dual meet on Tuesday.

Other Falcons winners included Iva Icheva in the 50 freestyle (25.38), Kathryn Bruno Lamar in the 100 butterfly (1:11.24), Rachel Krebsbach in the 500 freestyle (5:54.89), Stacy Lee in the 100 backstroke (1:09.54) and Sabrina Hatzer in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.01).

Hatzer, Krebsbach, Ingalla and Gabrielle Granados teamed to win the 200-freestyle relay in 1:51.84 and Mackenzie Hobby, Lamar Bruno, Krebsbach and Granados won the 400-freestyle relay in 4:13.73.

BASEBALL

Buckley 12, Flintridge Prep 2 (5 innings): Karlsen Termini had a run-scoring double in the first inning, but the Rebels (4-4) fell in a nonleague game Tuesday at Dunsmore Park.

Flintridge Prep surrendered nine first-inning runs in a game that was called because of the 10-run mercy rule.
