Bouchard paves way for Rebels

BOYS’ GOLF

Flintridge Prep 195, Granada Hills Hillcrest Christian 277: Jack Bouchard fired a two-under-par 32 on Thursday to propel the Rebels in a Prep League match at La Cañada Country Club.

Will Guthrie had a 39 for Flintridge Prep, which improved to 6-10, 2-3 in league. Justin Farshidi carded a 40 for the Rebels, who got a 41 from Richard Lo and a 43 from Peter Chodas.

Crespi 207, St. Francis 220: Vince De Pinto had a six-over-par 41 on Thursday for the Golden Knights in a Mission League match at Braemar Country Club in Tarzana. Jason Stumbaugh finished with a 42 for St. Francis (5-11, 3-8 in league).

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

St. Francis 3, Alemany 2: The Golden Knights notched a big Mission League road win on Thursday, defeating Alemany, 25-20, 20-25, 14-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Chris Thompson had 48 assists, while Charles McCarthy had 17 kills, Michael Bacall had 14 and Wesley Coffey had 10.

Holy Martyrs 3, Glendale Adventist Academy 0: The visiting Cougars fell Thursday, 25-21, 25-15, 26-24, in a Liberty League match. Glendale Adventist dropped to 0-6 overall and in league.

BASEBALL

Chaminade 5, St. Francis 3: David Olmedo-Barrera hit a solo home run and also drove in a run on a sacrifice fly for the Golden Knights on Thursday in a Mission League road contest. St. Francis (8-6, 3-3 in league) finished with just four hits.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Loyola 15, St. Francis 3: The visiting Golden Knights won three singles sets Tuesday in a Mission League match at UCLA.

Christian Esteve earned a 6-4 win for St. Francis, which dropped to 5-4, 3-4 in league. Christopher Grosuevor picked up a 6-1 win for the Golden Knights, who got a 6-4 victory from Alex Kavakian.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Bakersfield College 5, Glendale Community College 4: The host Vaqueros picked up two singles wins and two doubles victories in Thursday’s Western State Conference match.

Samantha Sismundo swept her two sets, 6-1, 6-3, for the Vaqueros, who also received a 6-3, 6-1 win from Mayra Alvarez.

In doubles, Glendale college (4-10, 2-8 in conference) received an 8-3 victory from Sevana Zargarian and Sismundo and an 8-6 victory from Katherine Akmakji and Alvarez.
