Tologs’ title hopes terminated
GIRLS’ SWIMMING
Alemany 89, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 81: Despite winning seven of 11 events on the day, the Tologs suffered a road Mission League loss on Tuesday that ensured they will not repeat as league champions.
Now, the best Sacred Heart can strive for is a tie for second one league meet remaining on April 28 against archrival Harvard-Westlake.
The Tologs were led by double-winners Katie Altmayer and Meg Ryan. Altmayer won 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute 56.64 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 59.80, while Ryan won the 100 freestyle in 56.06 and the 100 backstroke in 1:02.27.
Emily Balog won the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.77.
Sacred Heart’s 200-freestyle relay team of Eva Dulcich, Haley Shewfelt, Lauren Smith and Claire Mudie won in 1:49.77 and Ryan, Shewfelt, Balog and Altmayer took first in the 400-freestyle relay in 3:46.13.
BOYS’ GOLF
Crescenta Valley 197, San Marino 223: Freshman Paul Park fired a two-under-par 34 on Tuesday to earn medalist honors and spark the Falcons in a nonleague match Tuesday at Santa Anita Golf Course. Adrian Chia had a 36 for Crescenta Valley (8-3).
Aaron Peskett had a 41 for the Falcons, who got a 42 from Jason Lee and a 44 from David Moreno.
Flintridge Prep 201, Milken Community 249: Sophomore Jack Bouchard collected a ne-under-par 35 to pick up medalist honors on Tuesday for the Rebels in a Prep League match at Woodley Lakes Golf Course in Encino.
Flintridge Prep (7-10, 3-3 in league) received a 37 from Justin Farshidi, a 41 from Will Guthrie and a 42 from Richard Lo.
BOYS’ TENNIS
Flintridge Prep 9, Chadwick 9 (71-67): Alex Wood swept in singles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-2, for the Rebels in a Prep League road victory on Tuesday.
Kent Byun and Eric Kazangian swept, 6-2, 6-0, 6-1, in doubles and William Dixon provided a clinching 6-1 win in singles.
Arcadia 15, Glendale 3: The visiting Nitros got a pair of doubles wins from Jeff Asano and Elliot Kim on Tuesday in a Pacific League match. Asano and Kim teamed up for 6-3, 6-3 victories.
Alex Levin and Edgar Hakobyan worked together for a 6-3 win for Glendale, which dropped to 9-4, 6-3 in league.
Burbank 10, Crescenta Valley 8: The doubles team of Jeremy Cho and Tim Chong swept for the Falcons in a Pacific League loss on Tuesday.
MEN’S GOLF
Glendale Community College in Western State Conference match: Michael Timpson and Chris Ramirez shots one-over-par 73 for the Vaqueros on Monday at Rio Bravo Country Club in Bakersfield.
Brennan Amirkhizi carded a 74 for Glendale college, which got 79s from Danny Fernandez and Jin Park.
