Falcons beat Knights in intercity clash

BOYS’ GOLF

Crescenta Valley 194, St. Francis 212: Paul Park and Adrian Chia of Crescenta Valley and Vince De Pinto of St. Francis shared medalist honors Tuesday with one-over-par 37s in a nonleague match at Brookside Golf Course No. 1.

Jason Lee fired a 38 for the Falcons (10-8).

On Monday, Crescenta Valley earned a 209-215 nonleague victory against San Marino at the same venue. Chia carded an even-par 36 to lead the Falcons, which received a 39 from Park.

SOFTBALL

Crescenta Valley 16, Pasadena 1 (five innings): Erin Ashby had three hits, including a home run, and Sydney House contributed three hits for the host Falcons in a Pacific League game Tuesday.

Crescenta Valley (13-3, 5-1 in league) received two hits apiece from Maria Leon and Hannah Cookson.

Hoover 32, Muir 2: Kaitlyn Williams earned the win in the circle and went three for four with a home run in the Tornadoes’ Pacific League road victory on Tuesday. Teresa Martinez homered and Kenya Buckley went four for four for Hoover (5-7, 3-3 in league).

Westridge 8, Flintridge Prep 6: The Rebels were upset and dealt their first Prep League loss of the season.

Kelly Wang had two doubles and drove in two runs Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough.

Ashley Kim had a triple and scored a pair of runs for Flintridge Prep, which dropped to 7-3, 5-1 in league.

BASEBALL

Hoover 11, Muir 2: Cameron Doran went three for four with two runs batted in for the Tornadoes in a Pacific League home game on Tuesday.

Hoover (4-11, 2-4) also got three hits from Anthony Cuccinello.

Pasadena Poly 9, Flintridge Prep 3: Kyle McDonald had two hits for the Rebels on Tuesday in a Prep League contest at the Glendale Sports Complex.

McDonald came through with a run-scoring double for Flintridge Prep (9-6, 3-3).

Pitcher Clayton Weirick went the first five innings for the Rebels, allowing two hits. Pasadena Poly scored six runs in the sixth to take the lead.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Glendale 13, Mark Keppel 5: The visiting Nitros (10-4) got two sweeps in singles and one in doubles Tuesday in a nonleague match.

Nick Shamma won, 6-4, 6-0, 6-1, while Mike Unanian won, 6-2, 6-1, 6-3.

Jeff Asano and Elliot Kim swept in doubles for the Nitros, 6-4, 6-1, 6-1.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Prep 3, Rio Hondo Prep 0: Jared Norsworthy contributed 13 kills and four blocks Tuesday to spark the visiting Rebels to a 25-21, 21-17, 25-23 Prep League win.

Kenyatta Smith finished with 11 kills and three blocks for Flintridge Prep (8-12, 2-2 in league). Kieren Mulroy added 35 assists for the Rebels, who got eight kills from Nolan Jimbo.
