BOYS’ GOLF

Flintridge Prep in Prep League prelims: Jack Bouchard shot a seven-over-par 77 on Wednesday in the Prep League individual prelims at Brookside Golf Course No. 2. Bouchard, who finished second in league last season, placed fourth behind defending champion Alex Angard of Viewpoint (73), Jaryd Jackson of Webb (76) and Croix Griffin of Pasadena Poly (76).

The top four from the final round, which will take place at 1 p.m. today at Brookside Golf Course No. 1, advance to the CIF Southern Section Individual Regional. That event will be held May 16 at Las Posas Country Club in Camarillo.

“Jack said he had some trouble with his driver,” Flintridge Prep Coach Bob Loughrie said. “When you hit the ball that far, you need some control.

“He didn’t feel like his putting was good, either. He’s staying positive and he’s still sitting in a pretty good position. It will be a much tougher course [today] and it would be nice if he could overtake the field.”

The top 16 from the field of 30 advanced to today’s round, which will also include Flintridge Prep’s Will Guthrie and Justin Farshidi.

Guthrie had an 85 and Farshidi carded an 87.
