Kert leads GCC volleyball

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Glendale Community College 3, Imperial Valley College 1: The Vaqueros (4-7) picked up a 25-16, 23-25, 25-12, 25-18 nonconference win Friday. Sara Kert had 16 kills and six aces for Glendale, which received 42 assists from Laila Souktani and 36 digs from Racquel Valenzuela.

The Vaqueros began their week Wednesday with a 25-23, 25-21, 25-22 nonconference loss against Antelope Valley College.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Oxnard College 2, Glendale Community College 0: Glendale (1-6) suffered a nonconference defeat Friday.

MEN’S SOCCER

Orange Coast Community College 6, Glendale Community College 0: The Vaqueros (1-5-1) fell Friday in a nonconference match. They began the week with a 3-1 loss against Irvine Valley College on Sept. 20.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Agoura 8, Flintridge Prep 6: Ethan Vandeventer finished with a team-best four goals Saturday for the Rebels (7-5) in the Malibu Tournament against Agoura.

In other tournament play, the Rebels fell, 12-2, to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Webb 3, Flintridge Prep 2: Julia Miller collected 20 kills and 27 assists Friday for the Rebels, who suffered a 26-24, 21-25, 24-26, 25-19, 16-14 Prep League defeat.

Katrina Boyd added 29 digs for Flintridge Prep (3-5, 1-2 in league) and teammate Kate Woolley contributed 19 kills.
