Tologs open with Mission League win

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 13, Chaminade 5: The Tologs won their Mission League opener on Thursday at Cal State Northridge behind a clean sweep in doubles, led by Diane Gutierrez and Jackie Fernandez (6-4, 6-0, 6-4).

In singles, Emily Katz led the way with a 6-1, 6-1 showing for Sacred Heart (2-1).

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Holy Family 3, Bishop Conaty-Loretto 1: The visiting Gaels opened up Horizon League play Thursday with a 25-20, 25-13, 24-26, 25-17 victory. Alicia Marquez finished with 54 digs for Holy Family (5-4). Alexa Sandoval collected 30 assists for Holy Family, which got 16 digs from Ashlee Sandoval and eight kills and 14 digs from Aurora Aguirre.

Chaminade 3, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 2: Drew Washington finished with 17 kills Thursday for the visiting Tologs, who lost their Mission League opener, 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-9.

Sophia Coffey collected 12 kills for Sacred Heart, which received 11 digs apiece from Alessandra Orlandini, Colleen Degnan and Shelby Tom.

Mayfield 3, Flintridge Prep 0: The host Rebels fell, 26-24, 25-7, 25-9, in a Prep League match Thursday. Kate Woolley finished with seven kills for Flintridge Prep (4-6, 1-3 in league).

Pilibos 3, Glendale Adventist Academy 1: Andrea Blake finished with 18 kills Thursday for the Cougars in a 25-17, 25-14, 22-25, 25-17 nonleague road loss. Anne Sadow had 15 assists and Brittney Gregg added 13 for Glendale Adventist (2-3).

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Santa Barbara 15, Crescenta Valley 7: Leo Rostamian scored two goals Thursday for the Falcons (1-8) in a Villa Park Classic match. Crescenta Valley received one goal apiece from Yusef Trad, Nate Fernandez, Jonny Malmrose, Garrett Ellis and Griffin Harting.
