Estrada shines in postseason appearance

With the game all but over, the Milwaukee Brewers called on Glendale Community College product Marco Estrada to pitch the eighth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game Three of the National League Division Series. Estrada came in with his team down, 8-1, but didn’t let it get any worse.

The former Vaquero faced four batters -- Arizona’s No. 6, 7, 8 and 9 hitters. Estrada struck out Chris Young and surrendered a single to Ryan Roberts. He bounced back and struck out Gerardo Parra on four pitches, before getting John McDonald to hit an easy grounder to first baseman Prince Fielder to send the game into the ninth inning.

JJ Putz closed the door and finished off the ninth inning for the Diamondbacks, giving Arizona its first win of the best-of-five series, 8-1. The Brewers hold a 2-1 series advantage, as the two squads will square off again in Arizona Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
