Marquez digs Gaels to victory

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Holy Family 3, San Gabriel Mission 0: Alicia Marquez recorded 50 digs and Alexa Sandoval added 41 assists on Tuesday to lead the host Gaels to a 25-8, 25-12, 25-16 Horizon League win at Pacific Community Center.

Holy Family (7-5, 3-1 in league) got 13 kills and 18 digs from Ashlee Sandoval and 12 kills from Rianne Sanchez.

Crescenta Valley 3, Pasadena 2: Kira Guarino collected 18 kills and seven digs Tuesday to lead the host Falcons to a 25-16, 25-15, 18-25, 12-25, 15-10 Pacific League victory.

Crescenta Valley (6-4, 5-3) received 20 assists from Payton Wheeler and 13 kills from Allison Reik to stay in a third-place tie in league with Burbank.

Hoover 3, Muir 0: The Tornadoes beat the Mustangs on the road, 25-9, 25-6, 25-13, to improve to 2-8 in the Pacific League on Tuesday afternoon.

Burroughs 3, Glendale 0: The host Nitros fell, 25-23, 25-21, 25-10, on Tuesday afternoon in a Pacific League match.

Glendale fell to 6-7, 2-6 in league.

Westridge 3, Flintridge Prep 1: The host Rebels fell, 19-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-20, in a Prep League match on Tuesday despite nine kills from Kate Wooley and six kills from Julia Miller. Prep dropped to 4-10 and 1-6 in league with the loss.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Crescenta Valley 16, Glendale 2: The Falcons won Tuesday afternoon’s Pacific League home match to improve to 9-2 and 6-2 in league, while the Nitros dropped to 1-9, 1-7.

Crescenta Valley got a sweep from No. 1 singles Emily Borkowski and No. 2 Karen Ataian won both of her sets without dropping a game.

The doubles team of Jackie Dilanchian and Viktoriya Shumakova also swept for the Falcons.

Rochelle Lingat and Celicia McLean won a pair of doubles sets for the Nitros.

Flintridge Prep 15, Mayfield 3: Andrea Kevakian swept her three sets without losing a game to lift the visiting Rebels to a Prep League win Tuesday at Arroyo Seco Tennis Club.

Jenise Vargas won her three sets — losing only one game — for Flintridge Prep (9-3, 4-1).

Harvard-Westlake 17, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 1: The visiting Tologs struggled in Tuesday’s Mission League match at L.A. Valley College. Singles player Emily Katz notched Sacred Heart’s lone victory.

The Tologs dropped to 2-4, 1-3 in league.
