BOYS’ WATER POLO

Glendale 22, Nogales 21 (OT): Freshman Manuk Piloyan hit a buzzer-beater in overtime on Tuesday to lift the Nitros, ranked fifth in CIF Southern Section Division V, over the Nobles, who are ranked fourth in Division VII. It was the second game-winner from Piloyan in as many games, both against ranked opponents.

Armand Momdzhyan scored six goals for Glendale (19-7) and David Papazian added five, while Martin Chatalyan and Piloyan recorded four goals each.

Walnut 17, Crescenta Valley 8: The visiting Falcons (8-16) got four goals from Griffin Harting and two from Jonny Malmrose in a nonleague match Tuesday.

Pasadena Poly 13, Flintridge Prep 2: Ethan Vandeventer scored two goals for the Rebels in a Prep League match Saturday. Flintridge Prep dropped to 12-9, 3-4 in league.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Glendale 14, Pasadena 4: The host Nitros recorded four sweeps in a Pacific League match Tuesday. Glendale (2-11, 2-9 in league) got sweeps in singles from Emily Levin, 6-1, 6-3, 6-2, and a 6-4, 6-1, 6-1 sweep from Eugenia Bagdassarian.

Rochelle Lingat and Celicia McLean won their doubles sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1, for Glendale, which also got a sweep in doubles from Angie Santago and Arpy Zargarian, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Mayfield 3, Flintridge Prep 0: Julia Miller finished with five kills Tuesday for the Rebels in a 25-13, 25-9, 25-11 Prep League road defeat. Flintridge Prep (4-14, 1-10 in league) received four kills from Kate Woolley.

MEN’S SOCCER

Glendale Community College 3, Citrus College 2: The Vaqueros closed out the week Friday with a Western State Conference win. Glendale college started off its week Oct. 18 with a 7-1 conference loss against Oxnard College. The Vaqueros are 3-10-2 and 2-5-1 in conference.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

L.A. Valley College 4, Glendale Community College 2: Glendale college suffered a Western State Conference loss Oct. 18 and fell to 1-13-1 and 0-6-1 in conference.
