Falcons Heat up in desert

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Crescenta Valley 64, Galena (Nev.) 49: Christian Misi scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead the Falcons (11-2) in the third-place game of the Desert Heat Classic in Palm Springs on Friday.

Tade Keshishyan (14 points) and Davis Dragovich (13 points, five rebounds, six assists) were both named to the all-tournament team for Crescenta Valley.

Glendale 72, Reseda 53: Sev Pogosyan led the Nitros (5-7) with 21 points and was named to the all-tournament team, as Glendale finished the Hart Tournament with a 2-2 record Friday.

Flintridge Prep 70, Rancho Buena Vista 65: Kareem Ismail finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds Friday to lead the Rebels (5-5) in the 15th-place game of the Torrey Pines Tournament. Kory Hamane added 23 points and four steals for Flintridge Prep, which received 16 points and eight rebounds from Robert Cartwright and 10 points from Jedrick Eugenio.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Glendale 43, Channel Islands 41: Tara Abdul-Ahad scored 20 points and Erlin Keshishzadeh added 12 for the Nitros (6-5) in a consolation bracket finale of the West Coast Holiday Festival on Friday.

Hoover 53, Claremont 48: Sam Barakat scored 21 points for the Tornadoes in the seventh-place game of the Glendora Christmas Tournament on Thursday.

Kariz Alberto, who was named to the all-tournament team, added 11 points for Hoover (4-4).
