Rebels move into tie for first place

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Flintridge Prep 4, Webb 0: Abby Letts scored a pair of goals Wednesday to lead the host Rebels in a Prep League match at the Glendale Sports Complex. Flintridge Prep goalkeeper Casey Cousineau recorded her 10th shutout of the season and helped move the Rebels (11-2-1, 5-1 in league) into a first-place tie in league with Pasadena Poly. Kaelin King and Arielle Baptiste also had a goal and an assist each.

Pasadena 2, Glendale 0: The host Nitros (3-10-2, 2-7 in league) fell Wednesday in a Pacific League home match.

Arcadia 9, Hoover 0: The visiting Tornadoes (3-8, 1-7 in league) fell Wednesday in a Pacific League match.

BOYS’ SOCCER

St. Francis 2, Crespi 0: Reed Izumi scored two goals Wednesday to lift the host Golden Knights in a Mission League match. Goalkeeper Paul Dean finished with six saves for St. Francis (5-7-7, 4-1-3 in league).

Glendale 2, Pasadena 1: The Nitros got one goal apiece from Artur Nazarian and Steve Hernandez on Wednesday in a Pacific League road match. Glendale improved to 2-10-4, 1-5-3 in league.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

St. Francis 66, Crespi 52: Tei Vanderford scored a season-high 27 points Wednesday for the host Golden Knights in a Mission League game. Zack Gardea and Emerson Castaneda finished with 18 and 15 points, respectively, for St. Francis (9-12, 2-6 in league).

Crescenta Valley 64, Burroughs 38: Christian Misi had 19 points and 11 rebounds Wednesday to spark the visiting Falcons in a Pacific League contest. Crescenta Valley improved to 18-4, 7-2 in league.

Flintridge Prep 73, Kilpatrick 51: Chadd Cosse registered 22 points and Robert Cartwright added 14 on Wednesday to lead the host Rebels (12-7) in a nonleague contest. Kareem Ismail contributed 14 points.

Pasadena 49, Glendale 35: Sevan Pogosyan finished with 12 points Wednesday for the visiting Nitros in a Pacific League contest. David Yetenikyan added eight points and 12 rebounds for Glendale (8-13, 3-6 in league).

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Arcadia 44, Hoover 37: Kariz Alberto finished with 16 points Wednesday for the visiting Tornadoes in a Pacific League game. Hoover fell to 4-13, 0-9 in league.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

L.A. Valley College 76, Glendale Community College 73: Nick Rhodes notched 21 points and Marquis Brooks added 15 rebounds Wednesday for the visiting Vaqueros in a Western State Conference South Division game. Glendale college dropped to 10-12, 2-4 in the division.
