Cougars conclude season with league tie

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Glendale Adventist Academy 1, Yeshiva 1: Melissa Yeghizarian scored the tying goal in the second half for the host Cougars in a season-ending Liberty League match at the Glendale Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Glendale Adventist (2-10-1, 2-6-1 in league) goalkeeper Victoria Osby finished with 10 saves.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Providence 92, Glendale Adventist Academy 33: Glendale Adventist fell Wednesday in a Liberty League road contest.

Flintridge Prep 66, Rio Hondo Prep 36: The Rebels faced an 11-9 deficit at the end of the first quarter Tuesday, but bounced back with a 17-7 run in the second quarter to go up, 26-18, at halftime.

Prep was even more explosive in the third quarter, as it started the third out on a 17-0 run and went into the fourth quarter of the Prep League game up, 54-27.

Robert Cartwright led the way for Prep with a game-high 18 points, along with seven steals and six assists.

Chadd Cosse and Jedrick Eugenio both had 11 points with Kory Hamane adding nine of his own for the Rebels (15-7, 6-0).

Providence 51, Glendale Adventist Academy 20: The visiting Cougars suffered a Liberty League loss Wednesday.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Burbank 15, Hoover 1: Se Yeon Kim scored the lone goal for the host Tornadoes in a Pacific League match Wednesday. Hoover dropped to 1-12, 0-6 in league.
