Nitros earn narrow victory in overtime

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Glendale 10, Westridge 9 (OT): Jenna Nance scored the game-winner for the Nitros in a Prep League match at home on Friday.

Nance finished with six goals and Elena Pierce added four goals for Glendale (8-8).

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Chadwick 3, Flintridge Prep 0: Kareem Ismail led the Rebels with 14 kills and two blocks in a Prep League road loss on Friday.

Chadd Cosse added 12 kills and Mike Lee finished with 36 assists for Prep (9-13, 2-4 in league).

SOFTBALL

Westridge 5, Flintridge Prep 3: The Rebels led Friday afternoon’s Prep League contest, 2-1, going into the bottom of the fifth, where the Tigers scored three runs to take the lead for good.

Chelsea Johnson went two for three with a run scored for Prep (1-12, 1-5), which also got a run batted in from Rachel Simon.

MEN’S TRACK AND FIELD

Glendale Community College in Western State Conference prelims: Issac Diosdado won the conference championship in the 10K with a time of 32 minutes 45.45 seconds at Santa Barbara City College on Friday.

Rico Guiterrez (fourth, 33:12.33) and Vladimir Diaz (fifth, 33:18.05) both enjoyed top-five finishes.

WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD

Glendale Community College in Western State Conference prelims: The Vaqueros took spots two through five in the 10K finals at Santa Barbara City College on Friday behind Nohemi Martinez (40:11.09), Grace Zamudio (40:13.59) Alyssa Selve (40:15.95) and Angela Martinez (40:16.98).
