Cookson, CV clobber Muir

SOFTBALL

Crescenta Valley 16, Muir 0 (five innings): Led by a monster day from Hannah Cookson, the Falcons (12-5, 5-2 in league) won their Pacific League road game on Tuesday.

Cookson had three home runs and five runs batted in. Both Allison Lacey and Hailey Cookson had three RBI each, with Lacey tallying three hits and two runs and Cookson scoring three times, as well. Tiffany Briscoe also had three hits and two runs.

Burbank 16, Hoover 6 (five innings): The Tornadoes lost on the road Tuesday, despite Kaitlyn Williams going two for two with a home run, two RBI, two runs and a walk.

Hoover (5-9, 2-5) also saw Lilly Rivera collect a pair of hits, along with Alissa Barcena.

BASEBALL

Pasadena Poly 11, Flintridge Prep 2: Karlsen Termini went three for four with a double in Tuesday’s Prep League road loss.

Steven Fleming drove in a run for Prep (5-13, 2-6).

BOYS’ TENNIS

St. Francis 14, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 4: John Kazanjian and Christopher Grosvenor swept in singles for the Golden Knights in a Mission League road match at Braemar Country Club on Tuesday.

The No. 2 doubles team of Alfred Lee and Darren Kunitake also swept for St. Francis (7-7, 4-5).

Glendale 16, Pasadena 2: The Nitros swept in doubles in Tuesday’s Pacific League road match, led by Andrew Lingat and Mike Akopians (6-0, 6-0, 6-1).

Glendale is 8-6 and 6-5 in league.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Glendale Community College 7, L.A. Mission College 3: Cory Popham went 7 1/3 innings for the Vaqueros, who got doubles from Sergio Plasencia (two for five with a RBI) and Cameron Gardner (two for three with two RBI) and a triple from Ruben Padilla (one RBI) in a Western State Conference South Division game Tuesday at Stengel Field.

Edgar Montes also drove in a run for Glendale (24-10, 15-5 in conference).
