All-Area Second Team Baseball

P – Jeff Bain, Soph., San Marino

All-Rio Hondo League second-teamer had first-team numbers with a 1.17 earned-run average and 48 strikeouts with a 6-3 record. Also batted .362 with 12 runs batted in.

IF – Logan Beerman, Senior, Pasadena Poly

Played crucial role in Panthers’ league title run, earning first-team All-Prep League honors with .365 average, 24 runs and 31 hits.

IF – Jonah Campbell, Senior, Pasadena Poly

Prep League first-teamer hit .351 with 36 RBI and 19 runs scored, while also stealing a team-high nine bases.

OF – Jeff Garavaglia, Senior, St. Francis

Golden Knight hit .329 (27 for 82) with 16 runs, 12 RBI and 10 stolen bases playing in the toughest league of any area squad.

OF – Garrett Glazer, Senior, San Marino

First-team All-Rio Hondo League selection went 6-5 with a 2.18 ERA in 54 2/3 innings, striking out 40 and walking just 15. Also hit .371 with 23 hits and 12 RBI.

C – Caleb Lee, Junior, Pasadena Poly

All-Prep League first-teamer hit .315 with 21 runs and 19 RBI for the league-champion Panthers. Made just two errors behind the plate and had a 2.92 ERA in seven pitching appearances.

IF – Dylan Mersola, Junior, Burbank

Shortstop was an All-Pacific League first-team pick with a .403 batting average, 14 RBI, 12 walks and a .500 on-base percentage. Also had 13 stolen bases.

OF – Ricky Perez, Junior, Burbank

All-Pacific League second-teamer hit .323 with 16 runs, 12 RBI, 17 walks and nine stolen bases, leading Bulldogs back to the playoffs.

IF – Antonio Ruiz, Junior, La Salle

The All-Del Rey League first-teamer finished with a team-high 41 hits, as he batted .432 with 22 RBI, 21 runs, nine doubles and three homers.

P – Mitch Russell, Senior, La Cañada

All-Rio Hondo League second-team pick is bound for Loyola Marymount after a standout season in which he notched a 0.32 ERA and struck out 45 in 44 innings of work.

UTL – Michael Russo, Soph., Crescenta Valley

An All-Pacific League second-teamer with first-team numbers, he had a breakout season with a team-leading 27 runs batted in. Also posted a .392 average, 17 runs and a team-best eight stolen bases.

UTL – Tei Vanderford, Senior, St. Francis

Second-team All-Mission League pick tallied a 1.65 ERA and struck out 23 in 34 innings, as teams hit just .188 against him. Offensively, he scored 12 runs and had 11 RBI.
