SPORTS ROUNDUP: Tornadoes take down Pasadena in five

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Hoover 3, Pasadena 2: Shaina Barrett had 20 kills for the Tornadoes in an 11-25, 17-25, 25-17, 25-16, 15-12, home Pacific League win on Tuesday. Lilit Chaparyan and Nicole Mirzakhanian added eight kills apiece for Hoover (4-5, 2-2 in league).

Arcadia 3, Glendale 0: The Nitros fell to the Apaches on the road, 25-15, 25-23, 25-21, Tuesday. The loss dropped Glendale to 2-2 in league.

Chadwick 3, Flintridge Prep 0: The Rebels fell to 0-4 in the Prep League at home Tuesday, 25-16, 25-20, 25-21. Flintridge Prep freshman outside hitter Lauren Stiles finished with a team-high 11 kills, while Daniella Motte and Brynn McFadden added nine kills and 14 digs, respectively, for the Rebels (3-6).

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 15, Alemany 3: Flintridge Sacred Heart’s No. 1 doubles team of Breanna Ryan and Nicolette Harutunion swept, 6-0, 6-4, 6-0, in a Mission League opener Tuesday at the Fremont Tennis Center. The Tologs improved to 2-4.

Glendale 13, Pasadena 5: Veronika Ghalstyan, Imani Story and Danielle Fabian powered the Nitros to a Pacifc League victory at home Tuesday. Ghalstyan swept in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-4, 6-1, while Story and Fabian provided a 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 sweep in No. 2 doubles.

The Nitros improved to 4-4, 3-3 in league.

Burbank 13, Hoover 5: Kristine Adzhemyan and Diana Karapetyan swept, 6-0, 6-3, 6-4, out of the No. 1 doubles slot for the Tornadoes in a Pacific League road match Tuesday.

Hoover fell to 2-7 and 2-4 in league.

Chadwick 15, Flintridge Prep 3: Each of the Rebels singles players — Abby Letts, Roya Ghessari and Maya Dunn — picked up a win in Prep League play Tuesday. Prep fell to 2-8, 1-3 in league.
