GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Harvard-Westlake 3, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 0: The Tologs fell to the archrival Wolverines in straight games for the second time this season in Thursday night’s 25-19, 25-15, 25-19 Mission League road loss.

“I think it was more of the inexperience of playing in a harsh environment and just trying to climb over that ledge right there where you see what’s going on and you understand what’s going on, but then it’s putting all of that into actually playing volleyball,” said first-year Sacred Heart Coach Ernest Banaag, whose team slipped to 10-11 and 4-3 in league. “They’re sort of struggling with the fact that they know what to do, but they just can’t seem to put it all together.”

Arcadia 3, Glendale 1: The Nitros hung tough with the Apaches, 25-27, 26-28, 25-23, 24-26, in Thursday’s home Pacific League match behind 10 kills from Kirsten Cabarong, seven kills from Kimberly Coffman and six kills from Serena Snaer.

Sevana Stepanian added 32 digs for Glendale (7-10, 4-7).

Burbank 3, Crescenta Valley 1: Allison Reik notched 10 kills for the Falcons in Thursday’s 25-14, 23-25, 25-18, 25-9 Pacific League loss.

Nanette Grigorian added 19 digs for Crescenta Valley (6-9, 4-7).

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Glendale 12, Burroughs 5: The Nitros (15-5, 5-0) moved one win away from a perfect Pacific League regular season with Thursday’s road win over the Indians. Glendale, which has already locked up the top seed in the league championship tournament, wraps up the campaign against Hoover on Wednesday.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Glendale 10, Pasadena 8: The Nitros wrapped up the Pacific League regular season on the road Thursday behind a doubles sweep from Lilia Blkhoyan and Mary Pailevanian, 6-3, 6-1, 7-6 (9-7).

Emily Levin won a pair of singles sets, 6-2, 6-1, for Glendale (7-8, 6-6).

Flintridge Prep 9, Mayfield 9 (75-67): The Rebels outlasted the Cubs in a tiebreaker in Thursday’s Prep League match, as Abby Letts (6-1, 6-0, 6-0), Roya Gheissari (7-5, 6-0, 6-0) both swept in singles.

Maya Dunn won two singles matches, 6-1, 6-1, and Annie Lawry and Natalie Rozman won a key doubles match to force the match to games.

Prep, which defeated Webb, 10-8, in a league match on Tuesday improved to 5-12 and 4-5 in league.
