Sports Roundup: Glendale basketball nets first win


Glendale 49, Los Angeles Roosevelt 40: Senior guard Vahe Aristakessian scored a team-high 16 points as the Nitros picked up their first win of the season in the pool play finale of the Burbank Tournament at Burbank High on Thursday afternoon.

Arthur Terzyan added eight rebounds and five blocks for Glendale (1-2), which will face either Burbank or Bellarmine-Jefferson on Friday at 5 p.m.

Roosevelt dropped to 0-3.


Crescenta Valley 2, Crespi 1: So far it’s been two matches and two victories for the Falcons, who defeated Crespi on Thursday afternoon in the Ralph Brandt Tournament.

Erick Trejo and Pablo Sotillo scored both of the goals for Crescenta Valley (2-0), which received assists from Rani Dimashki and Matt Ryan. Falcons goalie Josh Cook added two saves as the Falcons will play either North Hollywood on Friday at 5:15 p.m.
