SPORTS ROUNDUP: Flintridge Prep volleyball sweeps through Chadwick

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Prep 3, Chadwick 0: The Rebels remained perfect in Prep League play Thursday with a 25-22, 25-22, 25-19 win at Chadwick. Mike Lii tallied 31 assists for Prep, which also received 11 kills and six blocks from Kareem Ismail. The Rebels (13-6, 4-0 in league) also received seven kills from Chadd Cosse and six kills and three aces from Dante Fregoso.

SWIMMING

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 122.5, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 54.5: The Tologs stayed on track to repeat as Mission League champs in a dominating victory in which they won every event Thursday at Loyola High, improving to 5-0, 3-0 in league.

SOFTBALL

Hoover 13, Muir 0: Alissa Barcena threw a one-hit shutout and went two for three with a two-run home run for the Tornadoes, who picked up their first Pacific League win Thursday on the road. Hoover (3-5, 1-4 in league) also received a two-for-three day from Kelly Crockett and a homer from Kaitlyn Williams.

Harvard-Westlake 4, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 0: The Tologs were shut out in a Mission League home game Thursday.

Westridge 6, Flintridge Prep 5 (eight innings): Chelsea Johnson finished with three hits and stole two bases Wednesday for the visiting Rebels in a Prep League contest. Drew Montgomery added a pair of hits for the Rebels (1-8, 0-3 in league).

BOYS’ TENNIS

St. Francis 13, Crespi 5: The Golden Knights won all nine singles sets with sweeps from Alex Kavakian and Mustafa El Harazi in a Mission League match Thursday at the Fremont Tennis Center, as they improved to 7-6, 3-3 in league.

Crescenta Valley 15, Pasadena 3: The Falcons’ No. 1 doubles team of Patrick Meserkhani and Greg Manouchehri swept Thursday in a home Pacific League match. CV improved to 4-5 in league with all three of its singles players also winning two of three sets.

BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD

St. Francis vs. Alemany: While final scores weren’t available as of deadline, the Golden Knights did receive some strong efforts in Thursday’s home Mission League meet.

Christopher Rodriguez, a freshman, won the 1,600-meter race and was runner-up in the 3,200. Eric Knowles took the long jump with a mark of 19 feet eight inches, and Caleb Simmeth set a personal record of 15.10 seconds while taking third in the 110-high hurdles.

GIRLS’ TRACK AND FIELD

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy vs. Alemany: The Tologs picked up a pair of wins from Noelle Niederhaus and Jackie Scherer in the 1,600- and 800-meter races, respectively, Thursday in a Mission League meet at St. Francis High. The final score wasn’t available as of deadline.

BOYS’ GOLF

Crescenta Valley 213, Burroughs 231: Paul Park of Crescenta Valley carded an even-par 36 on Wednesday in a nonleague match at Brookside Golf Course No. 1.

Flintridge Prep 215, Pasadena 238: Jack Bouchard finished with an even-par 36 on Wednesday for the Rebels (4-4) in a nonleague match at Altadena Golf Course.
