SPORTS ROUNDUP: Flintridge Sacred Heart swimming teams clinches share of Mission League title

SWIMMING

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 109, Alemany 61: The visiting Tologs clinched at least a share of the Mission League title with the win Tuesday. Flintridge Sacred Heart (6-0, 4-0 in league) received two wins apiece from Kirsten Vose and Kate Herrill.

Vose won the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes 11.09 seconds and the 100 freestyle (54.60). Herrill captured the 50 freestyle (25.17) and the 100 backstroke (1:03.01).

The Tologs can win the league title outright Thursday with a victory against Chaminade at Loyola High.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Prep 3, Webb 0: Chadd Cosse collected nine kills and four aces Tuesday to propel the host Rebels to a 25-10, 25-11, 25-14 Prep League win. Michael Leslie added seven kills for Flintridge Prep (14-6, 5-0 in league).

Crespi 3, St. Francis 0: Charles McCarthy finished with 16 kills Tuesday for the visiting Golden Knights, who fell, 25-22, 25-22, 25-22, in a Mission League match. David Thompson contributed 21 assists for St. Francis (5-9, 1-7 in league).

BOYS’ TENNIS

St. Francis 10, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 8: The host Golden Knights received a pair of singles victories from Alex Kavakian (6-4, 6-1) and Mostafa El-Harazi (7-6(7-4), 6-4) on Tuesday in a Mission League match at Fremont Tennis Center. St. Francis improved to 8-7, 4-3 in league.

Burroughs 12, Crescenta Valley 6: The host Falcons fell in a Pacific League match Tuesday. Crescenta Valley dropped to 5-7, 4-6 in league.

BOYS’ GOLF

Pasadena Poly 219, Flintridge Prep 245: Jack Bouchard fired a one-over-par 37 on Tuesday for the Rebels in a Prep League match at Brookside Golf Course No. 1. Flintridge Prep fell to 6-5, 0-4 in league.

On Monday, Flintridge Prep recorded a nonleague tri-match win at Woodley Lakes Golf Course. Flintridge Prep finished with a 209, followed by Heritage Christian 222 and Milken Community 234. Bouchard finished with an even-par 36 for the Rebels, who got a 38 from Jonah Sacks.

Loyola 191, St. Francis 204: Vince De Pinto fired a three-over-par 38 on Tuesday for the visiting Golden Knights in a Mission League match at Wilshire Country Club. St. Francis (7-4, 6-3 in league) received a 39 from Michael Finney and a 40 from Johnny Brandt.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Glendale 10, Westridge 6: Lymayre Aguilar registered four goals and Claire Bernardo added three on Tuesday to lead the visiting Nitros to a Prep League win. Glendale improved to 4-7, 2-3 in league.

SOFTBALL

Flintridge Sacred Heart 16, Louisville 3 (five innings): Sumner Hanula had two doubles and drove in three runs Tuesday to spark the Tologs to a Mission League road win called after five innings because of the 10-run rule. Kaitlin Powers had three hits and scored four runs for Flintridge Sacred Heart, which got two hits and three runs batted in from Kelly Jacobs to improve to 8-7-2, 1-2 in league.

Burroughs 12, Hoover 1 (five innings): Alissa Barcena had two hits for Hoover on Tuesday in a Pacific League road game called because of the mercy rule at Olive Park. The Tornadoes dropped to 5-6, 1-5 in league.

Mayfield 10, Flintridge Prep 5: Ashley Kim drove in three runs Tuesday for the visiting Rebels in a Prep League game. Flintridge Prep dropped to 1-11, 0-6 in league.

BASEBALL

Burroughs 10, Hoover 0 (five innings): Host Hoover fell Tuesday in a Pacific League game called because of the mercy rule. Hoover dropped to 3-12, 1-5 in league.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

Glendale Community College 12, Santa Monica City College 1 (five innings): Starting pitcher Katie Bakhshian struck out eight to help the visiting Vaqueros pick up a Western State Conference Blue Division victory Tuesday in a game called because of the mercy rule. Bakhshian also hit a two-run home run. Teammate Kayla Evans had a home run and drove in three runs for the Vaqueros, who improved to 17-18, 7-8 in the division.
